Latin America's fast food industry has been keenly adapting to digital trends, with several key players experiencing notable app engagement in the first quarter of 2021. Here's a snapshot of how these apps fared on the iOS platform, as reported by Sensor Tower.
McDonald's Offers and Delivery saw a fluctuation in downloads, starting at approximately 38K in the last week of December 2020, peaking at nearly 53K in early February, and then tapering off to 33K by the end of March. Weekly active users (WAUs) followed a similar pattern, increasing from roughly 320K to 358K in the same period, before dropping to around 300K.
Burger King Brasil experienced a downward trend in both downloads and WAUs. Downloads saw a decrease from about 16K to 11K, while WAUs dipped from 122K to 104K by the end of the quarter.
Habib's had an inconsistent quarter, with downloads initially dropping from 9K to around 8K, then spiking to 17K in late March. WAUs showed a significant increase from 28K to nearly 39K in the same timeframe.
Domino's Pizza México also displayed a mixed pattern. Downloads started at about 8K, dropped to 6K mid-quarter, and ended on a high note at 7K. WAUs remained relatively stable, beginning at 34K and ending at around 33K.
Starbucks México showed a positive trend in downloads, growing from 3K to over 6K, with a peak of around 9K in late February. WAUs saw an overall increase from 39K to 46K, despite some fluctuations.
